Tetra Tech Small Business Open House Provides Opportunities for Connection
Tetra Tech recognizes the talent and experience reflected in small businesses as well as the value provided to our customers through small business utilization. Our June 2015 Small Business Open House event in Arlington, Virginia, is part of our ongoing effort to extend our commitment to small businesses beyond formal mentor-protégé relationships.
More than 100 small business representatives from 80 firms learned about opportunities to develop both long-term and opportunity-specific relationships. Small businesses had the opportunity to network with Tetra Tech experts in environment, water, energy, IT, security/governance, ports and harbors, nuclear services, infrastructure, agriculture and economic growth, and land tenure and property rights services.
We also exposed small businesses to insight and perspectives from both public and private sector federal contracting experts and allowed small business representatives to broaden and deepen ties with other small businesses.
The event included a panel presentation that addressed how small business can leverage existing advocacy and support organizations, network more effectively, and develop more strategic approaches toward positioning and partnering around new business opportunities. Panelists were David Canada from the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization; Paul Foldi and Roger Jordan of the Professional Services Council; Tijana Dabic of Small Business Association for International Companies (SBAIC); and Lynn Petrazzuolo of the U.S. Women’s Chamber of Commerce (USWCC).
Attendees represented a wide range of service sectors, including engineering and project management; consulting services including financial, management, global health, economic development, and technical; data and research; technology solutions; security; environment and natural resources management; capacity building; and education.
Tetra Tech also connected small businesses with Objective Rally Point, which assists Veteran Owned and Service Disabled Veteran Owned organizations, and Devex, which supports large and small organizations seeking to provide development and foreign assistance services.
